2025 Athletic Hall of Fame Class

Ryan Brecko ~ Baseball ~ Class of 2006

Ryan Brecko played a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of Seneca High School’s baseball program. His impact on the program was immediate. On April 1, 2005, in Seneca’s first-ever varsity baseball game, Ryan pitched a perfect game—an extraordinary achievement that foreshadowed his outstanding career. He went on to become the only pitcher in the history of the prestigious Diamond Classic to throw a perfect game, further solidifying his place in South Jersey baseball history.

Reflecting on his career, Ryan recalls, “One memory I will never forget is the second perfect game I threw against Buena. My best friend was catching, and it was an experience I cannot put into words.”

Ryan’s talent and leadership earned him numerous honors, including selection to the First Team All-State, First Team All-South Jersey, and First Team All-Burlington County. A dual threat, he led Seneca in both pitching victories and home runs in 2005 and 2006. Under his leadership, the Golden Eagles achieved remarkable success with a State Finalist appearance in 2005 and a Diamond Classic Championship in 2006.  Ryan’s legacy is defined not only by victories and accolades but also by the strong bonds forged with his teammates. He remains a pioneer of Seneca baseball and a truly deserving member of the Athletic Hall of Fame.

Following his graduation, Ryan continued his education and athletic career at George Mason University, where he majored in Criminology and excelled on the baseball field. He concluded his collegiate career ranked first in appearances (74), sixth in saves (10), tied for tenth in wins (16), and fifth in program history with a .696 winning percentage.

For the past 13 years, Ryan has had a career in the field of Federal Information Technology Contracting, supporting multiple Civilian Citizen Services agencies with their IT requirements. He currently resides in Warrenton, Virginia, with his wife, Laura, their seven-year-old daughter, and their four year old son.  Ryan and Laura are also expecting a baby boy this coming January.
